Frequently asked questions

How is silk produced?

Silk is produced by silkworms which start their life by hatching from an egg, and end it by becoming butterflies. In the meantime, they grow and go through different stages. The cocoon they produce is a protection during the delicate phase of their transformation from worms into butterfly. The silk thread is liquid in their body and solidifies thanks to a protein called sericin.

Is our silk, Greek?

“Greek made” is a pillar of our enterprise, and we do produce natural silk in the village of Soufli, Eastern Thrace, for our scarves.

Another pillar is the upscale of silk remains, coming from a twisting mill in France. This silk is of very high quality and has the same great properties for the body.

“Greek inspired” by Greece is a third pillar.
