We favor a small neat production in order to create an exceptional product, linked to its roots and undoubtedly anchored in the future.
We use a cottage reeling machine to reel our cocoons: an artisanal, slow operation which requires, dexterity and patience.
Our idea: not to reproduce past silk but rather make a beautiful, timeless fabric, more authentic than classic silks. As a result, we get a silk thread completely different from industrial silks, which makes a very original fabric. Our scarves, woven with this fabric, reflect this artisanal process: their “flames” and irregularities give its personality.
From our mulberry trees to our silk thread, everything is done with utmost respect to the environment, and in a sustainable manner.
Our silkworms are reared with care and passion. We make sure they have the right space, food, temperature and humidity to develop harmoniously.
Our mulberry trees are cultivated in a sustainable manner, without pesticides nor chemicals.
We don’t throw anything and use our remains: our tree branches as firewood in the stove for the reeling machine, our pupae as fertilizer in our mulberry fields.
We have a firm commitment to produce in Greece: we use our Greek silk as much as possible and Greek cotton, but also our finishing, packaging and designing are all local made.
We upscale twisting mill remains, and make natural silk quilts for our Silk Home collection.
